Loudoun County is among nearly 200 localities participating in this year’s Virginia Association of Counties ornament collection for the Holiday Tree at the Executive Mansion in Richmond. The tree features works of art that celebrate the unique history and culture of Virginia towns, cities and counties.
In keeping with the theme of the Executive Mansion’s 2016 Holiday Tree — “Home for the Holidays” — Loudoun County’s ornament notes that the county is “home to 70 percent of the world’s internet traffic,” as it hosts one of the largest clusters of data centers in the world.This hand-crafted ornament is crafted from the same type of fiber optic cable found in Loudoun’s data centers.
