The general election will be held in Loudoun County on Tuesday, November 8. Voting must be done in person at your assigned polling place or by absentee ballot. Voters may cast an absentee ballot in person up until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016.  The deadline to request to have an absentee ballot mailed to you has passed and is no longer available. Elections officials recommend that voters mail their absentee ballots by November 3, 2016, to ensure that they arrive on time. Note: Some states have reported a voter scam indicating that you can vote via text. The only legitimate voting in Virginia is in person or by absentee ballot.

Not sure where to vote? Your voter registration card will tell you which election district you live in and the precinct you should go to in order to cast your vote. Polls in Loudoun County will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Anyone in line at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Voters are required to show an acceptable form of photo identification at their precinct. Acceptable forms of photo ID include a valid Virginia driver’s license, a U.S. passport, a student photo ID from a college or university in Virginia, or a government- issued photo ID. In addition to voting for candidates for elected office, voters in Loudoun County will be asked to vote “yes” or “no” on two state constitutional amendments and four county bond questions. The questions and candidates on the ballot can be found at www.loudoun.gov/election2016.
