Mocha Biz Loudoun: Ms. Dixon, Tell us about your background and your decision to start WBIS International

Sheila Dixon:

I was a Corporate Executive in the retail industry. During my second pregnancy I was on bed rest for duration of term. During that time, I remained connected to vendors who were trying to promote their products to the retail chain. I began building operation systems and processes to help them run their business and be accountable for their time.

After the successful pregnancy, I wanted to maintain my business skill sets in between the mommy-groups. I met a few women who were entrepreneurs and wanted to learn about business concepts and marketing their products and services. We met monthly and built a women’s professional network,WBIS. The network grew to 3 chapters in the Northern VA area where we promoted and worked together to bring ideas to action. Life happens. Baby number 3 arrived and I needed to switch gears and build private consulting clients.

The women’s group is now rebranded to : WBIS NetGIVING Foundation (Donor advised Fund of United Charitable Programs, a 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1) public charity (Tax ID# 20-4286082)
